We have been looking forward to our Chelan trip this year since we left last summer. We LOVE this place! We usually have one trip a year that has issue after issue and doesn't make for a fun trip. The way this one started out we thought for sure this trip would be a flop. We started out with a dead battery in the boat that needed replacing and a mouse that had moved into the trailer since our last trip. The funny part about finding the mouse was the fact that he had helped himself to a s'more as his last meal. A little chocolate, a little marshmallow and a little graham cracker was eaten. The chocolate in the trap ended up being his last real meal :)
On the way to Chelan nearing Cle Elum I noticed the trailer tire was bouncing pretty good which I didn't think was normal (I was following behind pulling the boat). I had Scott pull in the left lane and sure enough one of the tires was about to blow. We pulled over and waited for AAA to come since we didn't have a tire iron to fit them trailer. While we were waiting the battery in the Pilot died and we needed a jump for that. Next we had to stop in Cle Elum for a new battery since it wouldn't hold a charge. At this point we were really nervous that this trip was doomed and wondered about turning around. Well, we didn't and it only got improved from there.
We had so much fun playing at the beach, riding on the boat and hanging at camp with our friends. The kids couldn't get enough of tubing this week which is fun for us to watch. They were actually going faster than the adults this weekend. The weather was perfect except we had one rainy day. Nothing cures a rainy day like BINGO with prizes for the kids and a warm fire though. The kids played so well together and found so much to do here. We already can't wait until our next trip back next year.
